Mayor Will Worman, Siletz

I would like to share my support/endorsement for Curtis Landers as he pursues a Lincoln County Oregon Commissioners' seat.

I have had the pleasure to work with Curtis in a few different capacities over the last 10 years and I have found this man to have integrity, respect for others, the desire to understand the communities he works in, willingness to listen and act and just a be stand up person.

I first started working with Curtis when my community formed the Siletz Neighborhood Watch. I had no idea what I was doing, but Curtis made certain I got the proper information to make this program work for the entire community. We built a partnership between the community and Sheriff's Department together, working to make Siletz as safe as we could. Because of his leadership, my team heavily endorsed the enhanced policing district contract for the Siletz/Logsden area that is still in place today.

Later, I ran for the position of Siletz Mayor, with support and guidance from Curtis. He made me feel like I had the ability to do the work, and he showed me a great deal about leading rather than just being in a leadership position. This is the key to my support for Curtis in this position.

As mayor, Curtis and I worked together on many community projects and through the budgeting committee of the enhanced law enforcement district contract. Curtis always knew the right direction to send me to help advance Siletz. Curtis and I did not always agree on the process, but we always agreed on the desired outcomes. So, like a true leader, Curtis collaborated with me to get to where we needed to be. Sometimes I had to give a bit and sometimes he did, but that is true nonpartisan leadership.

I have a great deal of respect for Retired Sheriff Curtis Landers and give him my full support and endorsement as he runs for the position of Lincoln County Oregon Commissioner.

Jenna Wallace, Lincoln County District Attorney
I am writing to offer my strong and unequivocal support for former Sheriff Curtis Landers as a candidate for County Commissioner. Having had the opportunity to work alongside former Sheriff Curtis Landers during his tenure in law enforcement, I have seen firsthand his dedication to public service, his integrity, and his unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.
Curtis Landers leads with professionalism and accountability, always placing the needs of the public above all else. His experience managing complex public safety operations, overseeing budgets, and collaborating with local, state, and federal partners has prepared him well for the responsibilities of county leadership. He understands not only the challenges our county faces, but also the practical solutions required to address them.
What sets Curtis Landers apart is his ability to listen, build consensus, and act decisively. He is committed to bringing common sense and collaboration back to Lincoln County. He has earned the respect of colleagues across the justice system, as well as the trust of the community he served. For example, earlier this month, Curtis Landers received the endorsement of the Lincoln County Employees Association (AFSCME Local 541), an employee union that represents over 200 Lincoln County employees. I have no doubt that he will bring the same level of commitment, transparency, and thoughtful leadership repeatedly demonstrated in his 37 years of public service to the role of County Commissioner.
Our county deserves leaders who are experienced, principled, and focused on results. I am confident that Curtis Landers is the right candidate to help guide our community forward, and I wholeheartedly support his candidacy.
Adam Shanks, Lincoln County Sheriff

I am proud to offer my full support and endorsement of Curtis Landers for Lincoln County Commissioner Position 3.

Having served our community with integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to public safety, Curtis Landers has demonstrated the kind of leadership Lincoln County needs at the commissioner level. During his tenure as Sheriff, he consistently prioritized transparency, accountability, and collaboration; qualities that are essential for effective governance.

Curtis has a proven ability to build strong partnerships and make thoughtful, informed decisions under pressure. His experience managing and forecasting complex budgets, leading large teams, and addressing the diverse needs of our community gives him a unique and valuable perspective. He understands the challenges facing Lincoln County. From economic development and community well being to public safety and infrastructure, he will approach each issue with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset. He is experienced in developing actionable strategic plans designed to increase efficiency and quality of service.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Curtis is deeply rooted in our community. He will listen to residents, value their input, and will work tirelessly to ensure their voices are heard. His dedication to serving others is evident in everything he does.

I am confident Curtis Landers will bring the same level of dedication, fairness, strong leadership, and diplomacy to the role of County Commissioner that he demonstrated as Sheriff. He has my strongest support, and I encourage others to join me in supporting his candidacy.

Sincerely,

Adam Shanks

Lincoln County Sheriff

Steve Sparks

I am writing to share my professional perspective on former Sheriff Curtis Landers’ exceptional leadership and his candidacy for Lincoln County Commissioner. I first began working with him in 2016 while serving as the Stepping Up Initiative (SUI) project coordinator for the Board of Commissioners.

Sheriff Landers and his team were integral to the success of this transformational project. His collaboration was essential in building a stakeholder coalition dedicated to the SUI mission. Without his leadership, it would have been nearly impossible to meet the County’s objectives. Today, SUI remains a critical platform for providing essential services to Lincoln County’s most vulnerable citizens.

His work ethic and unwavering commitment were vital in overcoming the many obstacles we faced during the implementation process. Having spent 17 years as a Lincoln County resident, volunteer, Depoe Bay City Councilor, and professional consultant, I can confidently state that no one possesses the experience and leadership qualities necessary for the role of Commissioner more than Curtis Landers.

I am deeply grateful for his professional support and friendship, and I highly recommend him for this position.

Debra Kauffman Fant, Waldport

I am pleased to see Curtis Landers as a County Commissioner candidate(for position #3) as he has a unique familiarity with this county's governance and history. He has long standing community involvement county-wide, and a positive history of collaboration, problem solving, and innovation with new programs for the benefit of county residents. Another strength is education and experience that demonstrate leadership capability with a large work group and budget all of which would enrich his service to our county. I will gladly vote for him in the May election and invite others to join me.

Raymond Greenman

Curtis went above and beyond in helping me with my homeless person problem. I feel he and his team were what finally got her to move on.

Susan Swander

As a 37-year resident of Lincoln County (and 33 years in Waldport), I've watched the County Commissioners go from good to horrid. I've also seen Curtis Landers operate as a County employee, particularly as the Sheriff of Lincoln County. It is my belief that he will bring some badly needed stability and clarity to the Board of Commissioners. We desperately need Landers on the Board.

Bruce and Shelley McGuire

I worked with Curtis Landers for 24 years and he is the best person for the job! He has the country’s best interests at heart and no personal agendas like others! He has devoted his life to this county and all the citizens! He will help get the county and its citizens and county personnel all back o track working together! He will stop the fighting in the different departments, and will be able to logically and methodically work with the other elected officials making Lincoln County not a joke anymore.

Chief Foster (retired), Alsea Fire

Years ago, I was following Landers while he was outside of his district, on his way to a training. He watched a couple shovels fall off a vehicle ahead of him. He then quickly grabbed the shovels and caught up to the vehicle to make sure that they were returned. Landers is a stellar example of a Public Servant!

Tamera Rensink

I support Curtis Landers.
His leadership is un-waivering. He's honest, loyal, and hard working. He is just what we need in a Commissioner.
I'm voting for him!
I've known Curtis since I was a teenager. He has been in our County for years. I can't think of anyone that will do a better job like he will. His heart is for the people. We are those people.
I encourage you to think about your vote. Our lives, and our children and Grandchildren need to depend on a solid County Commissioner in leadership

Brodie Becksted

As a local business owner and lifelong local of Lincoln County, I can say that without a doubt, Curtis Landers is the only one that can right the ship. Curtis has not only my support but the support of my entire family and hopefully all my friends, co-workers, business owners and acquaintances will join us. We need steady guidance and a proven track record to fix the mess our county is currently in. Please join me in support of Curtis Landers for County Commissioner, Position 3.

Susie O'Toole

Curtis has integrity and dedication to service. He will do the right thing and get this county back on the right track.

Ross Smith II

I'm proud to endorse former Sheriff Curtis Landers.

Curtis has always known that true leadership is about more than a title—it’s about showing up, listening, and doing the hard work the right way. During his time on the deflection committee, he championed a heart-centered approach that didn't just strengthen public safety; it provided real solutions for those in crisis, making our community more resilient.

What sets Curtis apart is his accessibility. He makes a genuine effort to stay in the loop with constituents, ensuring that the people’s voices are actually heard at the decision-making table. We need that kind of grounded, steady leadership now more than ever.

Curtis Landers is thoughtful, experienced, and deeply devoted to our future. He has my full support.

Mark Ross

Curtis Landers is an exceptional leader that will be listen to citizens of Lincoln County and do what is right and just. I know this because I worked under his leadership for most of my career.

Tina McAlister

I am proud to endorse Curtis Landers for Lincoln County Commissioner. Curtis has a long track record of public service, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to our community. He understands the challenges our county faces and has the experience to make thoughtful, balanced decisions.

Lincoln County needs steady leadership and accountability, and I believe Curtis Landers is the right choice to serve our community

Jeff and Chris Lawrence

My husband and I have had the privilege of witnessing Curtis Landers’s character over many years, and what stands out most is his unwavering commitment to others. He consistently goes the extra mile—not for recognition, but because it’s simply who he is. Curtis leads with integrity, never seeking to elevate himself at the expense of others, but instead lifting people up and bringing out the best in those around him.

He believes deeply in the quality of life within our community and works to ensure families feel supported, valued, and heard. Curtis brings a steady sense of hope and confidence—reminding people that someone truly cares and is willing to stand beside them. That kind of leadership isn’t just admirable; it’s exactly what we need in a County Commissioner.

We stand beside you with pride, and honor who you are and what you represent as hope for Lincoln County.
