I am writing to share my professional perspective on former Sheriff Curtis Landers’ exceptional leadership and his candidacy for Lincoln County Commissioner. I first began working with him in 2016 while serving as the Stepping Up Initiative (SUI) project coordinator for the Board of Commissioners.
Sheriff Landers and his team were integral to the success of this transformational project. His collaboration was essential in building a stakeholder coalition dedicated to the SUI mission. Without his leadership, it would have been nearly impossible to meet the County’s objectives. Today, SUI remains a critical platform for providing essential services to Lincoln County’s most vulnerable citizens.
His work ethic and unwavering commitment were vital in overcoming the many obstacles we faced during the implementation process. Having spent 17 years as a Lincoln County resident, volunteer, Depoe Bay City Councilor, and professional consultant, I can confidently state that no one possesses the experience and leadership qualities necessary for the role of Commissioner more than Curtis Landers.
I am deeply grateful for his professional support and friendship, and I highly recommend him for this position.

I would like to share my support/endorsement for Curtis Landers as he pursues a Lincoln County Oregon Commissioners' seat.
I have had the pleasure to work with Curtis in a few different capacities over the last 10 years and I have found this man to have integrity, respect for others, the desire to understand the communities he works in, willingness to listen and act and just a be stand up person.
I first started working with Curtis when my community formed the Siletz Neighborhood Watch. I had no idea what I was doing, but Curtis made certain I got the proper information to make this program work for the entire community. We built a partnership between the community and Sheriff's Department together, working to make Siletz as safe as we could. Because of his leadership, my team heavily endorsed the enhanced policing district contract for the Siletz/Logsden area that is still in place today.
Later, I ran for the position of Siletz Mayor, with support and guidance from Curtis. He made me feel like I had the ability to do the work, and he showed me a great deal about leading rather than just being in a leadership position. This is the key to my support for Curtis in this position.
As mayor, Curtis and I worked together on many community projects and through the budgeting committee of the enhanced law enforcement district contract. Curtis always knew the right direction to send me to help advance Siletz. Curtis and I did not always agree on the process, but we always agreed on the desired outcomes. So, like a true leader, Curtis collaborated with me to get to where we needed to be. Sometimes I had to give a bit and sometimes he did, but that is true nonpartisan leadership.
I have a great deal of respect for Retired Sheriff Curtis Landers and give him my full support and endorsement as he runs for the position of Lincoln County Oregon Commissioner.
